About me

Since 2007 I dedicate myself, monographically, to the field of musculoskeletal infections, to the correction of skeletal deformities and the reconstruction of massive bone defects. I have received intensive national and international training in these areas with the world's leading experts in this scenario. Currently, my main interest is the treatment of complex cases of periprosthetic knee and hip infections, the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis and the resolution of large bone defects. My training includes a specialization in the technique of Ilizarov, through which we are able to solve large bone defects, correct severe skeletal deformities and equalize differences in limb length. The osseointegration of amputee patients (normally in a one-stage strategy surgery) is another of the procedures I perform, which is a huge benefit for this patients

Our work philosophy is always multidisciplinary, which makes me collaborate with the best national specialists in the field of infectiology, microbiology, clinical pharmacology and reconstructive plastic surgery. Based on such approach, we are able to solve cases that have been looking for a solution for years without finding it.
I believe that in the 21st century, clinical medicine has to be closely linked to scientific and research activity; That is why in the last 7 years our research group has published more than 50 scientific articles (Pubmed y Researchgate), trying to provide practical knowledge in the field of musculoskeletal infection and osteoarticular reconstruction. The diagnosis and treatment of chronic periprosthetic infection was the subject of my doctoral thesis (PhD application) conducted at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) tesis doctoral. I am a very active teacher and I work as a consultant for the most prestigious companies in the sector.
